W Ibiza – Hotel Review

W Hotel's is bringing their unique mix of modern design, music, art, and wellness to the white island. Located in Santa Eulalia, W Ibiza is one of the coolest summer destinations which has much more to offer than just partying.

IN GENERAL

The latest addition to the modern-fun style W Hotels group (S20), W Ibiza has landed on the shores of Ibiza’s east coast in Santa Eulalia. This boho-chic getaway with beach views and a distinctly party vibe is providing new life into the resort town of Santa Eulalia.

This beachfront hotel has all the facilities you need to leave feeling refreshed, healthy and relaxed. W Ibiza is very famous because of their colour-statement sunblinds design.

Besides the pool and sun terraces, there is a spa with massages to book, steam room, and a choice of beauty treatments and a well-equipped Technogym fitness room and frequent yoga classes. The Glow rooftop terrace (open during high-season) is cocktail bar and adult-only infinity pool, with wooden decking and panoramic Santa Eulalia sea views.

LOCATION

The hotel is located seafront on the southern end of Santa Eulalia and has direct access to the promenade which leads up towards the majority of the town’s restaurants and bars and the nearby marina.
Insider tip; CBbC Marina Sta Eulalia (part of Cala Bassa Beach Club, one of the most famous beach clubs on the island) well-known for their finest rice and seafood dishes.

Still, Santa Eulalia remains one of the more serene towns in Ibiza and is largely family oriented, so there’s very little nightlife — you’ll need to head to one of the clubs, Playa d’en Bossa or Ibiza town for that. It’s around a 25-minute drive to Ibiza town and a further five minutes to the airport.

ROOMS

The bohemian interiors theme visible in the lobby continued in the rooms. Neutral wall color and grey floors are brightened up with Ibizenco craftsmanship tasseled pillows, formica-topped tables and steel case with patchwork details.

Bathrooms have an abundance of mirrors, spotlight lighting and spacious walk-in showers with pearlescent metalllic doors.

There’s a weel-equiped minibar and Nespresso coffee machine and Marshall speaker. Some of the top range category suites have a plunge pool and sea views but the majority look out onto the pool area, which is fine and colourful.

FACILITIES

Whenever you have visited a W Hotel, the name ‘Wet Deck’ must sound familiar. The main pool is the Insta-proof pool where many pictures has been taken for social media. This pool is divided in two areas (one deep, one shallow) and is separated by a catwalk-walkway. There is another pool called ‘Glow’ on the rooftop.

In the basement (entrance to mail pool) you will find the ‘Away Spa’ which offers everything you need likewise the gym.

Don’t forget about the hotel owned beach club ‘Chirinquito Blue’ just across the promenade, where you can easily spend a  day of tanning or have a fine dining experience in the evening with stunning views.

GASTRONOMY

There are three restaurants at the W Ibiza: La Llama, where breakfast is served and in the evening it is transformed into a steakhouse The second one is Chirinquito Blue, the aforementioned beach club and Ve Cafe (vegetarian) with Go Beyond burgers and healthy pland-based dishes for everyone who value fresh, energising and nutritious ingredients.

Both are on the smaller side, so very intimate and means you are never lost in a massive hotel (buffet) restaurant. La Llama has lovely views across the pool, promande and Mediterranean.

Outside, on the promenade, you will find Ve Café which serves healthy and delicious vegan and vegetarian options.

Breakfast is exceptional, offering an array of really delicious fresh fruits and healthy options including chia pudding, overnight oats, and nuts and seeds of every imaginable kind. Eggs are a la carte so cooked to order and all the other morning mainstays like cured meats, cheese, pastries, and so on — are also available at the buffet.

STYLE & CHARACTER

The hotel is designed by Baranowitz + Kronenberg, who were inspirated by the island’s hippie roots, spectacular sunsets and arid landscape. The interiors blend a kaleidoscope of attractive pastel and sorbet shades throughout the hotel.

W Ibiza is formed of two wings  that shapes the V-building and shard-like pool facing the sea. This results in maximising the views of all those Balearic blues. As we are used to the design, the entrance has also received the necessary attention with a lot of funky rainbow lights.
