Villa Regina Teodolinda — Lake Como’s Wedding Venue.

Villa Regina Teodolinda is located in the stunning scenery of Laglio, a little village located just a few kilometers away from Como. Commanding lovely views, the villa has a gorgeous lakefront location on Lake Como’s western shore.  There’s direct water access from the villa’s private dock, making it particularly convenient to explore the lake by boat.

IN GENERAL.

Located in the enchanting scenery of lakefront Laglio, on Lake Como, Villa Regina Teodolinda offers a very elegant atmosphere with a service of excellence and modern comforts, to satisfy the most demanding clientele. An atmosphere that also extends to the outside venue, with a charming garden to enjoy the beautiful view with an Aperol Spritz and a swimming pool decorated with turquoise blue mosaics.

LOCATION.

Commanding lovely views, the Villa Regina Teodolinda has a gorgeous lakefront location on Lake Como’s western shore. This shore is one of the narrowest points of Lake Como where the opposite shore is just 650 meters away. It’s about 1,000 meters north of the pretty village of Laglio (which has become something of an attraction in recent years – since George Clooney is a resident). In this village you will find a very nice Bottega e Caffe called ‘Da Luciano’ where you can have the perfect aperitivo while enjoying the magnificent views over the lake. It is also a popular by artists who make the most beautiful drawings of the lake.

There’s direct water access from the villa’s private dock, making it particularly convenient to explore the lake by boat.

STYLE & CHARACTER.

It feels more that a b&b rather than a hotel. With only six rooms and two caretakers on call, it feels even more like a private villa than even a b&b. There’s no reception; the caretakers will show you to your room – we were lucky that we actually could choose between two rooms.

Interiors are decorated in light pastel coloured hues and shabby-chic furnishings that have a Provençal-style flair. In the evenings the garden is lit up with fairy lights, which gives the place a charming atmosphere. The villa is often rented out for private events including weddings and parties.

What we really loved and will remeber is the ‘Honesty Bar’ downstairs. This bar is unstaffed where you can get your drink in the garden or take it into your room. The only thing you need to be is honest and write down what you have taken. Simple as that and it’s all in the name.

ROOMS.

Set over three floors, all the six spacious rooms and suites have lakeside view. They feature pastel-coloured tones and are decorated with soft Provençal-style furnishings (linen curtains and white wrought-iron classic beds).

As this is a Italian flaired historical villa, the rooms all differ in size; suites have two bedrooms, and there’s a lovely attic room with exposed wooden beams. All rooms have kettles with tea and instant coffee, air-conditioning units and satellite televisions. Bathrooms are quite small compared to the room itself and come with poky shower cabinets.

In between the rooms you have small (living) rooms where you can have a sit and read a book, or enjoy the wonderful views of the lake. It feels very cozy, you home-away from home.

GASTRONOMY.

The buffet breakfast is a simple but delicious affair, with warm croissants, fresh fruits, cereal, yogurt, pancakes and scrambled eggs. Really enjoyed the cappuccino here while overlooking the garden and lake.

The breakfast is very complete and the sitting area feels like a royal breakfast in a castle. And the main draw is the lovely view from the outside seating area.

For during the day there’s a self-service bar, and a coffee and tea station, and some nice sweets and cakes in the communal living area that guests can use around the clock. The villa does not serve food for lunch or dinner, although there are a couple of restaurants a short walk away. The host will tell you everything you need to know and there is also detailed information in your room.
